Nothing Really Matters

4 May 2021 - 30 May 2021

Nothing Really Matters is an exhibition of paintings that were drawn from a series of unanswered questions posed by the artist, Debbie Caruana Dingli, to “imagined” mothers whose children have been convicted of a crime and locked away to serve time.

These works, however, present the artist’s own musings and personal reflection into the emotional, psychological and spiritual impact of loss, separation, guilt, repentance, shame, confusion, fear, solitude, and the whole gamut of emotions and reactions as experienced by those who are often left behind, separated from their children and subjected to another kind of prison.
