Disability – Homophobia – Social Perception
Dates and time: Thursday 7 April 2016, 8.00PM; Friday 8 April 2016, 8.00PM; Saturday 9 April 2016, 8.00PM; Sunday 10 April 2016, 8.00PM Venue: Theatre (St James Cavalier) As the name implies, Teatr-ejn, is a back-to-back theatre production of two Maltese plays: It-Tfajjel ta’ Fuq il-Bandla (Maltese for ‘The Young Boy on the Swing’) and Inverżjoni (Maltese for ‘Inversion’). Both scripts have been awarded first prize at the Social Theatre Festival, set up by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and organised by the Malta Drama Centre, in the 2012 and 2013 editions, respectively. It-Tfajjel ta’ Fuq il-Bandla, written by Andre’ Mangion, is a play which follows the story of Terry. Despite being a young, autistic man, he somehow manages to overcome several obstacles which he comes across, obstacles which belong to both the past and the troublesome times of the present. Stefan Magri, on the other hand, wrote Inverżjoni – a play about the relationship between sexuality and love – a social comment on the perception of sexual orientation, and the freedom to be oneself, or rather, the lack of it.Quick note about the entry price:
