Now in its fifth consecutive year, Żigużajg is the annual International Arts Festival for children and young adults, that has its eye on the positioning of the creative arts for children and young people at the core of Malta’s creative ecology. Żigużajg is a showcase of sorts, an interactive and engaging one, where several professional acts, performances and activities come together in one accessible, inclusive and colourful artistic programme. No stone is left unturned in the search for the best artistic events. And when the wish-list is not entirely checked off, new work is commissioned and given assistance in order to develop it into a production to add to the national repertoire. In addition to this, the plan is also, to introduce new genres, strengthen national repertoire and welcome more newcomers to the arts.
