POW Ensemble was founded by Dutch/Maltese composer Luc Houtkamp, and is a chamber ensemble of the 21st century, using live electronics and computers in combination with acoustic instruments. The ensemble is internationally renowned for its approach to present electronic music to the audience in a comprehensive way. POW Ensemble consists of Guy Harries – vocals, flute, computer, live electronics, drum machine; Luc Houtkamp – saxophones, computer, live electronics and Tom Armitage – vocals, synthesizers. Poèmes Électroniques is an immersive, improvisation-based performance of music executed on the distinctly modernist combination of modular synthesizer and percussion, taking listeners into a sensory and tactile space where reality is blurred and the limits of sound are expanded. They are inspired by Poème Électronique by Edgar Varèse, a seminal work of electronic music composed specifically for the Philips Pavilion during the 1958 Brussels World Fair, and the electro-acoustic music of Karlheinz Stockhausen. Poèmes Électroniques consist of Dr. Marc Fleury originally born in France and who evokes avant-garde meditative soundscapes in live performances using rare synthesizers with the latest effect technology and American percussionist Stuart Gerber.
