Date and Time: Friday, 3 May, 2019, 8pm Venue:  Spazju Kreattiv Theatre Price: EUR10 (EUR8 for EMM members) To kick off the Circuits 2019 conference on Friday 3rd May, Electronic Music Malta and Spazju Kreattiv will be presenting A Performance-Lecture by Dutch Instrument Creator Yuri Landman. Yuri Landman was an artist selected as part of the Spazju Kreattiv Artists’ Residency programme in 2016. During his residency, Yuri contributed towards the creation of a number of electro-acoustic instruments that are now part of the Fondazzjoni Kreattività collection. For this one-time occasion only, you will have the opportunity to Jam on these instruments along with Yuri and the other members of the audience. Yuri Landman (b. 1973) is a musician and an inventor of musical instruments. He has worked with experimental acts such as Sonic Youth, dEUS, Melt Banana, Rhys Chatham, Ex-Easter Island Head, Half Japanese, and Kaki King. In 2012, with Bart Hopkin, he published Nice Noise, a book about string preparations and extended techniques for guitar. In the same year, he started his band Bismuth with Arnold van de Velde, and a debut album followed in 2014.
